The University of Chicago Democrats is an RSO focused on providing students with unique opportunities to engage with politics and the Democratic Party. We hold biweekly meetings on Mondays and Wednesdays.

We regularly host speakers, panel discussions, debates, and other political and social events.

UChicago Democrats is a proud chapter of College Democrats of Illinois and College Democrats of America. 

Our UChicago Dems Victoria Koffsky and Ridgley Knapp serve as Vice President and Communications Director, respectively, of College Democrats of America. 

Victoria also serves as Vice President of College Democrats of Illinois. Ridgley also serves as Political Director for College Democrats of Illinois. Fellow UChicago Dems Artur Genser and Anais Rosenblatt serve College Democrats of Illinois as Chicago Regional Director and Finance Director, respectively.

UC Dems Statement on UCPD Shooting

Tuesday night’s shooting of a student by a University of Chicago Police Department officer was unacceptable and preventable. Given the released footage, the facts are clear: the student was in a severe mental health crisis. Creating situations where deadly force may be used should be a last resort, not the University’s first response.
